Well we are a little more than half way through the month of January. Our spending freeze is going great. We've only had one instance where we had to purchase something but it fell under the scope of what we were allowed to do. Again we followed our rules talked about it with each other first, compared prices, etc. My car ended up needing a new battery but before we could get that far, we needed to buy a set of jumper cables seeing how neither one of us had a set. Again these things happen and it teaches you the real value of learning what is and what is not a necessity AND it also forces you to communicate with your partner about your finances. We've found these conversations both difficult and beautifully amazing at the same time. We are working on our future marriage which for us finances are a different level considering we are bringing together two households that fully function on their own. We each bring something to the table that helps each other. We will share later this year, our tips and tricks to getting together on the same page as we proceed with out wedding. But for now, its back to the NO SPEND CHALLANGE...
