So as main careers, I'm a paralegal and he's a Marine Vet. We currently are running two kitchens....I have the Northern Cafe and James has the Golden Chow Hall....We both love to cook as individuals and as a couple but we both have different styles of cooking. He's more man cave cooking essentially upscaling chow hall food (hence the Golden Chow Hall name) makes it not to look pretty per say but to taste amazing (its a Marine thing I guess) and I'm more classic, clean, fancy do all the things to make it look pretty when cooking, needing both flavor and looks. He goes with his gut I go with my eyes. However, what is truly amazing is how we can blend our styles with ease. We bring balance to the other person. Both of our kitchens are on the smaller side. The true test of any relationship is to put two people who love to do something in a small room and see how they work. Well that test we aced with flying colors. Its truly scary how we just did it without even thinking about it. Nothing was assigned, nothing was discussed, we just did it. We have discovered this balance of being chef de cuisine and sous chef. I think this actually says a lot about who we are as individuals and who we are as a couple. So for now, we maintain the two kitchens and double everything in those kitchens but are so looking forward to coming into one kitchen and sharing our adventure in The Kitchen at Marean Manor with you all.
